Environmentalists challenge SC power plant permit

Associated Press: A coalition of environmental groups is challenging a state-issued air pollution permit for a coal-fired power plant in Florence County, the organization said Wednesday. Lawyers with the Southern Environmental Law Center don’t think a permit should’ve been issued earlier this month for state-owned utility Santee Cooper to build a power plant on the banks of the Pee Dee River.
